As a youth I spent many an hour watching my father at the sawmill converting huge oak trees into stock for kiln drying, this would then be used in his worshop.
I have not only inherited from my father a well equipped workshop, a useful stock of seasoned English oak but most important of all, his deep passion for working with English hardwoods.
Over the last 15 years I have been involved in designing, building and creating various wooden items both large and small. These include such diverse projects as clocks, kitchens, rocking horses, violins and an array of decorative pieces.
At the back of my mind throughout this time I have always thought it would be nice to mix the natural beauty of wood with some other material. Having discussed this at length with Mark it became all to apparent that the mix of wood and wrought iron would be the way forward. This would lead us to use both of our skill bases on a single object. We decided to specialise on coffee tables and wooden chests, thus "Real Treasures" was formed.
